Charles Kennedy, LMSW

For the last 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens, adults, and families around the country in various roles throughout my career. I have been a practicing clinician since 2013, having obtained my graduate degree and training from Michigan State University’s School of Social Work, as well as having obtained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

I have been highly successful working with and helping adolescents, adults, groups, and families in identifying strengths and weaknesses to aid in addressing the presenting set of problems. The therapeutic process will not work without trust, and I feel that through the rapport building process, and the creation of person-centered goals, we can work together to effectively address whatever trauma or emotional imbalance may be at hand, as we work together walking this path to mental and emotional well-being.

I specialize in teaching anger management skills, helping overcome anxiety/depression, addressing medication management concerns, psycho-education, and helping individuals develop a more positive self-image. I have a special knack for being able to engage those that have been involved in the juvenile justice system, foster care system, and those that have oppositional defiant disorder and conduct disorders.

Other areas that I have helped clients address include: trauma, grief/loss, conduct disorders/oppositional defiant disorders, poor self-image, poor relationships, and co-occurring substance use issues. I have a passion for helping others find and develop their true self by examining themselves, their actions, and by developing effective coping skills, and helping clients work toward living their best life. My clients have shared “It is nice to have an unbiased person to talk to, who will be honest and/or just listen without being judgmental,” and “You are one of the first therapists that he/she has truly opened up to.” I look forward to meeting with you to work together to create a personalized treatment plan that will help address your most emergent concern.
